The Need

Rea’Nubia is an African fashion and lifestyle brand producing quality, timeless designs alongside embroidery, branding and corporate gifting solutions. As demand for its products increased, the business required additional skilled capacity to expand production while creating meaningful employment opportunities for young people in Khayelitsha.

Through the youth@WORK Programme, young people joined Rea’Nubia’s production team where they gained practical workplace experience in garment manufacturing, embroidery, branding and business operations. Guided by experienced mentors, participants developed industry-relevant technical skills, workplace confidence and a strong understanding of professional standards.

The Result

The programme increased production capacity by 40% while improving workplace skills by more than 50%. With additional operational support and improved delegation, the business has been able to focus more strategically on growth, product development and continuous improvement.
