youth@WORK is focused on not only running a successful youth employment program, but also tracking the changes in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) and measuring our collective impact. Funders can be proud of the impact and showcase this. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development outlined 17 SDG's. These goals provide an impact framework to assess an entity's contribution towards "ending poverty and other deprivation".

youth@WORK's programme is intended to align with 6 main SDG's namely;:

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.

We are members of the National Association of Social change Entities in Education (NASCEE) and Catalyst 2030.

We actively participate in Education as we believe that foundation skills form the basis of successful careers. We provide resources and tools that facilitate healthy multisectoral collaboration to strengthen the social fibre of communities.

Linda Makhathini

Introducing Linda Makhathini, a proud alumna of youth@WORK hailing from KwaZulu Natal. Linda embarked on her transformative journey in 2019 through the YES youth program at Windy Height Primary School. During this period, she honed crucial technological, communication, and office management skills, overcoming financial constraints with the program's support to pay for her university fees.

In 2020, Linda completed her Teaching Diploma, and by 2021, she proudly assumed the role of a qualified teacher specializing in English Home Language and Creative Arts. Demonstrating her commitment to education, Linda initiated reading programs and secured book sponsorships for the school, garnering recognition and awards for her dedication to youth empowerment.

In 2022, Linda's journey reached new heights as she ascended to the position of Departmental Head at Windy Heights Primary, effectively managing a team of 21 educators. Through her dedication and the opportunities afforded by youth@WORK, Linda has forged a fulfilling career in education and remains committed to shaping the future of youth.
